Roche Children’s Walk 2021
Roche Children’s Walk 2021
As a member of the Roche Group, CPR has been actively participating the Roche Children’s Walk each year. From the construction of new school buildings in remote communities to financial aid for children with chronic illnesses, this annual philanthropic exercise raises funds to support children’s projects across the globe.
Joining our Roche colleagues from more than 100 countries around the world to make a difference in a child’s life, CPR once again participated in the 2021 edition of the Roche Children’s Walk. This year, we organised an online donation drive to benefit children in need.
CPR employees opened their hearts and wallets to donate generously during our week-long donation exercise held in July 2021. We managed to raise a total of S$4,950, comprising donations from our employees, coffee capsule donations from the office’s Rest and Relax corner as well as dollar-for-dollar matching donations by CPR.
Half of the donations from the fund-raising campaign were channelled to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) in Singapore to support children and their families affected by childhood cancer. The CCF provides multi-faceted support such as counselling and therapeutic play to help families cope with the diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancer. It also helps to ease the financial burden of needy families who have children with cancer by covering costs such as food, transport and medical costs.
The other half of the amount raised was contributed to the Roche Employee Charity & Action Trust (Re&Act) which is dedicated to improving the lives of children especially in developing countries. The Re&Act supports global children’s projects related to education, nutrition, primary healthcare and social development.
