Describe your day to day work as a Scientist. Do you have to be in the lab often?

My daily scope of work involves performing experiments on antibodies in the laboratory, as well as providing a one-stop solution to anyone who requires help. For instance, troubleshooting on issues faced during experiments, and also providing DNA sequencing service for users.

What are some skills which you consider important to be a Scientist and why? (eg. Patience, Resilience, Flexibility, Positivity)?

It is important to stay optimistic as a form of motivation. Patience and determination are the keys to successful experiments.

The biggest challenge you have and how you have overcome?

The change in the working environment. Job rotation/turnover poses a challenge in meeting project targets, as new employees require time for adaptation. I learned to accept that change is constant, and that communication is the key to maintain good teamwork.

What do you do to relax and unwind after a long day?

I do workouts daily to relieve the day of stress, and thereafter I will reward myself with a good meal to end the day.

What do you like most about CPR?

CPR has a strong culture in work-life balance. It provides opportunities for employees to learn and gain exposure to new skills and techniques while allowing us to spend quality time with our friends and family during off-hours. In addition, managers and peers also show care for one another especially when there are multiple workloads/tasks.
