As we continue to grow, CPR is seeking a skilled and motivated Pharmacologist to join our dynamic R&D team. The candidate is expected to be a Ph.D. Scientist with expertise in in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies.  The candidate will have a strong background of molecular biology and be responsible for disease target validation. The candidate will lead antibody screening for drug discovery projects. Depending on the experience and opportunity, the candidate will also lead antibody drug discovery projects and participate in strategic discussions to advance programs through pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct pharmacological studies to evaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of novel therapies
• Analyze and interpret data from in vitro and in vivo studies
• Mentor junior researchers and research associates
• Propose new drug discovery projects
• Draft publication or patent application with the support of IP specialists

Job Requirements

The applicant should be highly skilled in some of the following areas:

• Experience with drug discovery research (not limiting to antibody drug discovery) would be highly advantageous.
• Proficient in cell culture techniques with experience handling various mammalian cell lines
• Expertise in molecular biology techniques (e.g. generation of stable cell lines with overexpression, knockdown, and knockout of a gene, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA).
• Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting is preferred.
• Hands-on in vivo experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a pharmaceutical or biomedical research environment with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of drug development processes, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics is preferred.
• Demonstrate expertise in molecular or cell biology as evidenced by projects, presentations, or peer-reviewed scientific publications.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and data analysis software (e.g. Graphpad Prism and excel).
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem solving skills.

CPR is seeking a Senior Scientist with expertise in protein production using protein expression and purification systems. This position will be required to produce various proteins which are essential for the drug discovery projects with their expertise in protein science and engage in technology developments to improve productivity of the protein production processes. In addition, this position is also responsible for leading drug discovery projects and participate in strategic discussions to advance research programs.

Job Requirements

The applicant should be highly skilled in at least one of the following areas:

• Designing proteins for better productivity, stability, activity, etc.
• Protein expression using mammalian or coli system.
• Protein purification with column chromatography using system such as AKTA system.
• Production of difficult-to-handle proteins including both extracellular or intracellular proteins.
• Physicochemical or structural characterization of proteins.

You must have completed and be awarded with a relevant Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science/Biochemistry/Chemical Biology/Biotechnology/Information science or related field. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate technical expertise in areas which may include molecular biology, cell biology, protein chemistry and protein engineering as evidenced by projects, presentations, or peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Scientists with strong passion in medical science for creating and delivering innovative drugs in society which lead to saving patients suffering from unmet medical needs are highly desired.  Familiarity or having prior work experience in antibody drug discovery work will be a plus, although not absolutely necessary. You should also possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be a strong team player, as well as the ability to multi-task.

As a Senior Scientist in CPR, you will leverage your passion and creativity to lead an innovative antibody drug project through a characterization of drug candidates, collaborating with other multi-disciplinary teams to achieve a milestone of a project. The candidate will play a key role to drive our innovative drug discovery project and technology development by characterizing its properties with biochemistry and biophysics analysis.

The job scope is as follows:

• Lead the affinity screening assay of antibody during optimization phase using SPR analysis or BLI analysis.
• Plan and conduct antibody/ligand binding analysis.
• Plan and conduct biophysical analysis to evaluate physicochemistry properties of antibody.
• Novel protein analysis technology development.
• Developability and manufacturability assessment of antibody drug.

Job Requirements

The applicant is recommended to have experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Analysis of protein-protein interactions (SPR, BLI, ELISA)
• Column chromatography analysis (IE, SE, RP etc.)
• DLS, DSC, solubility test, stability test
• LCMS analysis of proteins

The applicant must have completed and be awarded with a relevant Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science/Biochemistry/Chemical Biology/Biotechnology/Life Science/Pharma Science with 1-2 years of working experience in a related field.

Scientists with strong passion in medical science for creating and delivering innovative drugs to society which leads to saving patients suffering from unmet medical needs are highly desired.  You should also possess good command of spoken and written English, excellent organizational and communication skills, team player mindset, as well as the ability to multi-task.

The candidate will perform tasks instructed by Research Manager and receive training from mentor in the lab for instrument operation and conducting experiments. The candidate is expected to work independently in daily experimental tasks after receiving training from mentor. The candidates will be assigned to a project in early research for drug discovery and development from high throughput screening to developability and manufacturability assessment.
