Walking For a Good Cause

Walking For a Good Cause

On 12 July 2024, 200 employees from CPR gathered to walk for a good cause. The Roche Children’s Walk 2024 marks the 21st anniversary of this global, employee-driven project.

As part of the Roche Group, we are proud to support this longstanding philanthropic event which aims to raise funds for children’s charities and initiatives. This event also reflects our commitment to sustainability and to make a difference in the lives of children.

Themed “All together – Let’s go!”, our walk took us along a 4.4km route on the East Coast Park, stretching from the Bougainvillea Gardens to the Twin Jetty and back. With scenic coastal views, this was the perfect setting for a meaningful cause.

During the walk, we also played a Human Bingo game, which added a fun twist to the day. With a Bingo card in hand, filled with various traits, hobbies, and lifestyle practices, we had to interview colleagues to match the descriptions. The catch? Each name could only be used once, encouraging us to mingle and fill up our cards. Completed Bingo cards were entered into a lucky draw to win prizes. This interactive icebreaker got us forming new friendships while learning fun facts about each other.

Through this event, we raised a total of $7,800, with CPR matching dollar-for-dollar the donations made by our employees. Half of the proceeds were directed towards the Children’s Cancer Foundation to support children and families impacted by childhood cancer. The other half was channeled towards the Re&Act charity, which supports children’s projects around the globe relating to education, nutrition, primary healthcare and social development.

Every step during the walk not only brought us closer together as a team but also helped to uplift those who need it most! We look forward to continuing this tradition, which combines sustainability with purpose.
