Celebrating 20 Years of Impact with the Roche Children’s Walk 2023
2023 marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Roche Children’s Walk. An annual philanthropic event of the Roche Group, which CPR is a part of, the Roche Children’s Walk is an employee-driven project to support children in need.
On 7 July 2023, 350 participants, comprising 80 CPR employees and employees from Roche affiliates in Singapore, assembled at The Promontory @ Marina Bay for the walk.
Under the clear skies, the 4.9km walking route (which translates into 22,000 steps) took us from the starting point at the waterfront promenade of Marina Bay to the lush greenery of Gardens by the Bay. We ended the walk at the Silver Leaf under the canopy of the Supertrees.
For extra excitement, there was also an on-site “Quiz-for-a-Cause” competition. This had participants looking out for clues during the walking trail while performing different activities or challenges.
At the end of the walk, the well-stocked snack station kept us energized. A roving photo booth also captured the joyous faces of those who came together for a good cause. Rounding up the day was a lively prize-giving ceremony to recognize the winners of the “Quiz-for-a-Cause” competition, as well as a lucky draw.
The walk provided us with a wonderful occasion to foster stronger bonds and contribute towards a good cause. Through this event, CPR successfully raised $9,361 from various channels including from cash donations, coffee capsule donations, the sale of snack boxes, as well as dollar-for-dollar matching from CPR.
We are proud to support this global initiative and the proceeds will be directed towards children’s initiatives in developing countries.
