Participating in a Tree-Planting Initiative to Promote Greener Spaces and Sustainability
On 19 April 2023, CPR participated in a Tree-Planting Initiative organised by JTC Corporation (JTC) as part of its “Go Green” initiatives at one-north.
The tree-planting exercise is also part of the OneMillionTrees Movement in Singapore, which aims to plant 1 million trees in Singapore over 10 years. This is a collaborative effort to create a greener and more sustainable urban environment. By transforming Singapore into a City in Nature and increasing our tree cover, this brings us one step closer towards a more resilient future in the face of climate change.
During the event, 150 individuals from 14 participating companies together with representatives from JTC and NParks turned out in full force to plant 80 trees at the Central Exchange Green in one-north. CPR is proud to be part of this effort to mitigate climate change, reduce our carbon footprint and beautify the green spaces around our workplace.
5 different tree species made up the 80 trees planted: Cratoxylum formosum, Saraca declinata, Gardenia tubifera, Dillenia suffruticosa, and Tabernaemontana divaricate “Silver”.
The tree that we planted – Cartoxylum formosum – is native to Singapore and grows a crown of light-pink flowers when in full bloom.
Our participation in the tree planting exercise is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. Together with industry partners, we hope to make a positive impact on the environment for a greener future.
