Roche Children’s Walk 2022
Roche Children’s Walk 2022
The annual Roche Children’s Walk is a key philanthropic event for the Roche Group, which CPR is a part of. An employee-driven initiative, the walk raises funds to support children’s projects around the globe.
After two virtual editions of the walk in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were pleased to be able to organise a physical walk in Singapore for 2022.
Held on 19 August 2022, the Roche Children’s Walk brought together CPR employees as well as those from other Roche affiliates in Singapore for a good cause. This year, we were also able to invite family and friends to join us on the walk.
With views of Singapore’s iconic skyline, the 4.5km scenic walking route took us from the PUB Marina Barrage to the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, and back. Carnival game stalls and food stalls were also set up at the PUB Marina Barrage, which added to the lively atmosphere on that day. After the walk, our employees enjoyed fun-filled carnival games and tucked into delicious food.
Participants welcomed the in-person walk this year, as it was an opportunity for them get active, have fun and bond with colleagues. More importantly, this was also a special day to think about children and to raise funds for a good cause.
The walk gave us the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, while making a difference and giving back to society. CPR was pleased to raise a total of $9,036 from the walk. This comprised cash donations by our employees, funds raised from coffee capsule donations, polaroid photo donations, the sale of carnival vouchers and coupons, as well as dollar-for-dollar matching from CPR.
Half of the funds raised will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation in Singapore to support children with childhood cancer and their families. The rest of the funds raised will be contributed towards the Roche Employee Charity & Action Trust (Re&Act) to support global children’s projects relating to education, nutrition, primary healthcare and social development.
