Running at Relay For Life in Support of Cancer Awareness
On 8-9 March 2025, we sent a team of 27 to take part in the Singapore Cancer Society’s Relay For Life 100km Challenge at the Singapore National Stadium – an overnight event in support of the fight against cancer.
Relay For Life is a global movement that unites communities to honor those affected by cancer and to raise awareness through action. In Singapore, the event has grown into a significant platform for individuals and organizations to show solidarity and support.
For us, this was not only a physical challenge but a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to corporate social responsibility and to stand behind a cause that affects so many.
We ran the challenge as Team CHUGAI, splitting into seven relay groups that took turns to run on the track throughout the night. Altogether, we completed 351 laps around the stadium covering a total distance of 140.4km – well beyond the official 100km target.
Our goal was not just to meet the distance, but to show commitment to the cause. Even after reaching 100km, we chose to keep going until the event concluded – a reflection of our team’s perseverance.
With a total time of 14 hours and 28 minutes, we placed 22nd overall – a result we’re proud of. More importantly, the experience reaffirmed the importance of stepping forward to support a meaningful cause.
