Running for a Good Cause: Raising Funds For Cancer
In April 2024, we marked World Cancer Day by participating in Relay For Life 2024, an annual overnight 100km run organised by the Singapore Cancer Society to raise funds for those affected by cancer.
Since 2020, the Chugai Group has observed World Cancer Day with various initiatives to spread awareness about the impact of cancer. As an extension of this commitment, our participation in Relay For Life for the second consecutive year highlights our continued support for and solidarity with the cancer community.
The run is part of a global movement aimed at rallying communities worldwide to fight against cancer. It was powerful to see so many individuals come together to honour those who have battled cancer.
We sent a team of 25 runners who took turns passing the baton to tackle the 100km relay run. Despite the physical exhaustion, our team persevered to complete the overnight run from 8.30pm to 8am, clocking in a time of 11.5 hours to finish 14 out of 151 participating teams.
Thanks to the team’s efforts and the generosity of our supporters, we managed to raise S$1,751 which was donated to the Singapore Cancer Society. We remain committed to supporting World Cancer Day and advancing our efforts to create innovative drugs to address unmet medical needs.
